Dr Aylwin has a well-established private practice at the London Bridge Hospital that mirrors his NHS work. He is the Lead Clinician for Endocrinology at King’s College Hospital. Dr Aylwin leads the pituitary and adrenal multidisciplinary teams at King’s that look after patients with pituitary and other endocrine-related tumours and cancers. 

He has published over 70 research papers in peer-reviewed journals in the field of endocrine tumours, clinical obesity, appetite regulation, and molecular endocrinology, regularly reviews journal submissions for international publications is on the editorial board for the journal Pituitary. He lectures widely both within the UK and abroad and has contributed to numerous symposia and debates at the British Endocrine Society and in other learned societies with recent lectures in the UK and overseas in Barcelona, Korea, St Petersburg, Zurich, India, Dublin
