Dr Lucy Ostlere graduated with Honours from St Bartholomew’s Medical College, having won several prizes as a medical student, and also gained a BSc in Psychology from University College London. She has over 25 years of experience in Dermatology, having trained in various leading Dermatology departments including Chelsea and Westminster, the Royal Free, Kingston and St George’s Hospitals. As a trainee she won notable prizes at National and International meetings. Her specialist research was on atopic eczema, for which she was awarded an MD and she has had over 80 papers published in peer reviewed journals. On completion of her training she was appointed Consultant Dermatologist at St George’s and Kingston Hospitals. She has been Clinical Lead and is an Educational Supervisor at St George's Hospital. She runs the Dermatology Education meetings for GPs and gives regular lectures to GPs, Dermatology trainees and Medical students. She is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists; British Medical Association; European Society for Cutaneous Allergy; Royal College of Physicians; Royal Society of Medicine
Her special interests include acne, eczema, the diagnosis of contact dermatitis, skin cancer screening and the management of skin cancer, including surgical and non-surgical treatments such as photodynamic therapy.
Dr Ostlere was listed in the Tatler Doctors Guide as one of the top 250 medical consultants in England and top 10 Dermatologists. She was also recommended in Vogue for her management of acne and praised “for her supportive manner . . . [and] a great track record with teenagers”.
She is recognized and fee-assured by all the main insurance companies, including BUPA (BUPA premier partner) and AXA PPP.
