    Dr Katie Lacy is a Consultant Dermatologist at the St. John's Institute of Dermatology, Guy's and St Thomas's Hospital, London, an internationally recognised leading centre for the treatment of patients with skin conditions. She has experience of treating patients with general dermatological conditions including eczema, psoriasis, acne, benign and cancerous skin lesions and other skin rashes.

    She has a specialist interest in melanoma and is the clinical lead for the melanoma unit at the St. John's Institute of Dermatology, St Thomas's Hospital. She also runs a specialist dedicated clinic for patients with multiple moles and the dysplastic naevus syndrome who are at high risk of the development of melanoma and has extensive experience of the use of mole mapping and dermoscopy in order to identify suspicious skin lesions requiring removal. Alongside this clinic she does a joint skin cancer genetics clinic for patients who have had multiple melanomas and their families. She has an interest in skin cancer imaging, undertaking research investigating the role of new techniques for skin cancer diagnosis including the use of optical coherence tomography and confocal microscopy.

    Katie Lacy graduated from Pembroke College, Oxford University with a 1st class Honours degree. Having completed a PhD in Immunology at University College London, investigating the effects of ageing on the skin, she is now an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Kings College London. She runs a research group investigating immune responses in melanoma. She has published her work in peer reviewed journals and given presentations at national and international meetings.
