    Guy Lloyd is the Lead Clinician for Echocardiography and a specialist in Heart Valve Disease at the new Barts Heart Centre. He qualified from the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’ in 1991. He is past President of the British Society of Echocardiography and takes a special interest in all aspects of echo including stress and TOE. He was previously a consultant cardiologist in Eastbourne (2002 - 2015) and was responsible for setting up a multimodality imaging cardiac service that included one of the first high volume cardiac CT services in a district hospital. Guy is a consultant at both Barts and University College Hospitals London, as well as an honorary senior lecturer at both University College London and Queens Mary's University of London

    He was among the first group of clinicians to recognise the need for specialist valve disease clinics and has published widely on this area as well as being a founding council member for the British Heart Valve Society.

    His post graduate education was based around Guy’s and St Thomas’ where he undertook a period of clinical research under the supervision of Dr Graham Jackson at Guy’s Hospital dedicated to the better understanding of cardiovascular disease in women.

    Current research interests include using stress echocardiography to understand structural and valvular heart disease in better detail, tracking long term patterns of progression in heart valve disease and objective assessment using multi-parametric methods. He has a strong interest in all aspects of heart disease diagnosis and management and his publication ranges from areas such as disparate psychological effects of heart disease, lipid modulation to advance imaging.

    Guy sees private patients at The Cardiac Clinic at The London Bridge Hospital, The Harley Street Clinic as well as in Eastbourne.
