The main therapy offered is CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) in addition to dynamically based therapy of both long and short term duration. As a principle, however, Dr Olsen is very much guided by client needs and will uses her broad experience and knowledge of psychological theory and practice to find the best approach to meet each individual client’s objectives. She treats a broad range of conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders including obsessive compulsive disorder, bi-polar disorder, phobias, panic disorders, relationship issues, adjustment disorders, eating disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, work/life stress issues, self-esteem and confidence issues, chronic pain and chronic illness issues as well as other medical issues causing psychological difficulties. The average length of therapy is 6-10 sessions.
Most patients are referred to Dr Olsen by an insurance company, a psychiatrist or their GP, but she increasingly takes referrals from other consultants as well as self-referrals.
Dr Olsen is registered with all major insurance companies, but patients are advised to confirm with their insurer that they are covered for her services. Dr Olsen is in charge of her own diary and can be contacted on her mobile 07788 720056 or via Sevenoaks Medical Centre. Please direct any correspondence to Sevenoaks Medical Centre. -
