  I was appointed Consultant Nephrologist at St Mary's hospital in 1983 and moved to the Hammersmith hospital in 2005. I also hold an Honorary Consultant post at Central Middlesex Hospital and previously worked at Harefield hospital.
  
  I am one of the most senior renal consultants at the North West London Renal Centre which is one of the busiest units in the country serving a population of 2 million and the area has one of the highest rates of renal disease / renal failure in the country.
  
  I have extensive experience in all aspects of renal medicine. This includes general nephrology covering all types of chronic kidney disease, acute kidney failure [including HDU and ICU] and end-stage kidney failure. I have over 20 years experience looking after patients on dialysis as well as extensive experience in renal transplantation including living related transplantation.
  
  I have a great deal experience caring for patients from all over the world and this has allowed me to understand the different cultures and provide the best treatment to meet individual needs. I enjoy my work and always aim to give the best possible care and achieve the best results irrespective of the challenge.
  
  I like to feel that I always use my experience, knowledge and skills to the best of my ability whilst providing a sympathetic understanding of the medical issues which is particularly important in renal medicine.
