Christel qualified as a dietitian in South Africa in 1997 and started her career as a clinical dietitian in a large district hospital together with setting up a successful private practice. Her desire to enhance her knowledge and skills in dietetics prompted her move to the UK in 2001 where she started her career in the NHS as a Renal Specialist Dietitian, a role she continued in three different NHSTrusts over 14 years. Her clinical caseload included the specialist lipid clinic and the Dietitian-led Coeliac clinic.

Christel has recently been promoted and appointed as the Professional Lead for Dietetics as well as the Head of the Nutrition and Dietetic Services at Wythenshawe Hospital (now part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust) and is looking forward to starting this new role in May 2019.
