The da Vinci© Surgical System is a computer-enhanced surgical robot designed to mimic your operating surgeon’s hand and wrist movements. This enables them to perform incredibly delicate procedures through the smallest of incisions.

The da Vinci© robot can be used to treat conditions as diverse as thyroid disorders and heart disease. Because the system allows our surgeons to operate in delicate areas where complex networks of vessels and nerves need to be avoided, it's often used to treat prostate cancer. However, it isn't a suitable treatment for all types of cancer. Please speak to your oncologist.

The da Vinci Surgical System

These new instruments can move in a way that my hands cannot. This is the new gold standard.

Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon

Robotic-assisted surgery

Using the latest robotic technology

Our London Bridge Hospital has been the latest hospital in the HCA UK group to set up a surgical robot for use across a number of service line. The da Vinci ® Xi™ system is fully integrated in the hospital theatre at the Private Care at Guy's Centre.

The da Vinci® Si™ surgical system at the Princess Grace now has integrated fluorescence imaging capability providing real-time, image-guided identification of key anatomical landmarks using near-infrared technology.

Our facilities

The Wellington Hospital and The Princess Grace Hospital were among the first in the UK to offer da Vinci© surgery. Our London Bridge Hospital recently installed the da Vinci XI system, which is fully integrated into the surgical theatre at Guy's Cancer Centre.
