This can be anything from a common ligament sprain brought on by heavy lifting, to complex spinal injuries.  At HCA UK, we treat the full range of trauma-based, congenital and degenerative spinal conditions in both adults and children.

Patients trust us

We know from experience that one size doesn't fit all. That's why we work alongside our patients to provide fully personalised patient treatment plans they can feel completely comfortable with.

The result is that 99% of our orthopaedic patients would recommend us to their family and friends (based on 2023 full-year patient satisfaction survey results).

Orthopaedic conditions we treat

Your spine is complex, made up of 33 individual bones that provide structure and protect your spinal cord. Our multi-disciplinary approach means all our patients, from children to adults, get the expertise of a whole team.

Hip and pelvis

As soon as a hip joint starts to cause pain, our natural reaction is to avoid using it. This can put extra strain on other parts of your body, such as the lower back or knee, causing new problems. We've given many patients a new lease of life with surgery.

Whether the result of a bad twist, a fall, or wear and tear over time, we see all types of knee injury. We can help you get back on your feet with treatments from meniscus and ligament repair to partial and total knee replacement.

Groundbreaking treatments

We support our orthopaedic consultants by investing heavily in the latest medical equipment, helping them to give you the best possible outcomes from your treatment.

At The Portland Hospital, for example, our state-of-the-art, low-dose radiation X-ray offers advanced scanning, particularly suited to children with musculoskeletal conditions.

Our consultants also have access to robotically assisted surgery tools, including the Mako robotic arm and the Globus ExcelsiusGPS® navigation system, and create custom implants for joint replacement surgery to ensure more precision and a faster recovery.

Paying for your treatment

As well as self-paying patients, we treat those with medical policies from all the major private insurers such as Bupa, AXA and many more. If you are paying for your own treatment, and you're considering hip or knee replacement surgery, we offer fixed-price options to give you security and financial peace of mind.

How to book an appointment

Booking your appointment

Booking an appointment with us couldn't be easier. You can call, or book using our online consultant directory.

If your treatment is going to be covered by private medical insurance, we'll need your insurance member number and authorisation code, so you'll need to have them to hand along with your referral letter.

We'll do everything we can to confirm your consultation there and then but, if that's not possible, we'll get back to you with a phone call or email within 24 hours.
