Director of Complementary Cancer Services Royal London Homoeopathic Hospital. Dr Sosie Kassab qualified from St Bartholomews Hospital Medical School and gained considerable experience in a range of different medical fields before joining the Royal London Homoeopathic Hospital in 1990.There she became interested in the application of complementary treatments for patients with cancerand has continued to specialise in this field.In 1998 she was appointed Director of Complementary Cancer Services at the Royal London Homoeopathic Hospital, part of University College London Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.She specialises in homeopathy, acupuncture and Iscador (a mistletoe preparation ). These treatments are used to help side effects of conventional cancer treatments, symptom relief and quality of life. She is particularly concerned to ensure that complementary treatments are used safely and appropriately alongside conventional treatments.She is currently lead reviewer for the Cochrane Review Homeopathy for Adverse Effects of Cancer Management and was involved in developing the Complementary Therapies component of the NICE document Improving Supportive and Palliative Care for Adults with Cancer (2004).She teaches nationally and internationally on the role of complementary treatments in cancer and is involved in various regional and national organisations.
