Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Dyspepsia and reflux, deranged liver tests, colonoscopy and family history of colon cancer, Coeliac disease.


Dr Bungay is a friendly and approachable specialist who received his degree in medicine from Trinity College, University of Cambridge in 1997 and was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2000 and earned a PhD from University College London in 2008 after completing a period of scientific research at the Royal Free Hospital.

His specialty training in gastroenterology was at a variety of hospitals in North London and on completion of this he went abroad for a year to work as a Clinical Fellow in Inflammatory Bowel Disease at the University of Toronto based at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Dr Bungay was appointed Consultant Gastroenterologist at Kingston Hospital in 2009 and sees patients privately at the Platinum Medical Centre, The Wellington Hospital.

His interests are Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, heartburn, indigestion, endoscopy, colonoscopy, investigation of abnormal liver tests, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhoea, vomiting, weight loss and Coeliac disease.
