When you’re thinking about private care for your child, safety will of course be an important consideration. Do bear in mind that some private hospitals don’t offer any on-site critical care facilities. Our children’s unit is fully equipped with the latest medical technology and facilities. Should the need arise, we have a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Special Care Baby Unit staffed by a dedicated team of critical care experts.
We don’t treat any adult patients in our children’s unit, so your child’s hospital experience will be completely tailored to their needs. We find that this can relieve your child’s anxiety about visiting hospital and help them to make a speedy recovery.
We also take infection control very seriously and have dedicated consultant microbiologists and infection control nurses on duty at all times. Consequently, our levels of hospital-acquired infections are very low – hospital-acquired MRSA rates are five times lower than the national average. While you’re staying with us, we’ll ask you and your visitors to use hand cleansing gels before entering and when leaving your child’s room.
Please be assured that we pay vigorous attention to the security of all our patients and staff. We use CCTV, personal electronic security tags for doctors and staff, and strict visitor identification procedures – staff identification badges are mandatory at all times. All babies will have a personal electronic security tag whilst they are in our care.
