New public website launches to help GPs and Patients
HCA is pleased to welcome the launch of new public website, offering patients and GPs access to compare nearly 200 independent hospitals on a range of quality of care indicators for the first time.
The Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN), a collaboration involving almost all independent hospital operators (including HCA International), will publish standardised and directly comparable information drawn from records of both private and NHS treatment.
The site enables patients and clinicians to search for local hospitals by procedure and to compare how they perform based on data from the treatment of more than a million patients a year.
Mr Venn, Graham Venn, Chief Medical Officer of HCA International said: “The launch of the PHIN website is an important milestone in delivering transparency and clinical quality. Over the coming year it will provide increasing amounts of reliable and valuable information about the quality of UK private hospital services. This will empower patients and GPs, allowing them to make better informed decisions about where best to access healthcare tailored to their individual needs.”
