Carolyn thought she had a gnat bite on the bridge of her nose. It started as a tiny whitehead, but then turned into a red lump and over the space of a week grew larger and turned into an open sore. A chance meeting with Mr Ciaran Healy, Consultant Plastic Surgeon, at The Wellington Hospital resulted in rapid diagnosis and treatment of a life threatening skin cancer. Carolyn says: "Considering this all happened just before Christmas, my initial diagnosis and subsequent treatment was both efficient and effective. So I can only thank my lucky stars – and Mr Healy – for being in the right place at the right time".
