Across our six hospitals, 2,800 consultants and 50 specialties, we can always find a consultant who can provide a second opinion for one of your employees or clients. We are regularly asked to provide second opinions for a variety of reasons, including:
- for a patient who would like a second opinion before major surgery, either to explore other options, or simply to confirm the course of action that their consultant has recommended. A second opinion often provides reassurance and peace of mind for patients before they start treatment, and helps them to decide between different options
- for an employer or advisor where there is an issue with insurance coverage. A second opinion can help to resolve differences of opinion between the consultant leading a patient's treatment and the insurance company that is funding the treatment, avoiding delays which can be stressful for the patient concerned
- for an employer in connection with employers' liability claims, or ill health/early retirement issues
