Professor Marc Winslet qualified from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, University of London in 1981. He was appointed FRCS Eng, FRCS Edinburgh in 1985. In 1987 he was awarded the degree of Master of Surgery by the University of London. In 1988 he was Hunterian Professor at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.Professor Winslet has sat on Council of the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain & Ireland, Section of Coloproctology, Royal Society Medicine, Association of Upper GI Surgeons of Great Britain & & Ireland, Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain & Ireland.He is currently Clinical Head of Surgery and Clinical Lead for Colorectal Surgery at the Royal Free and Head of Department of Upper GI Surgery at UCLH. He is Head of the North London Cancer Network Upper GI Tumour Board.Professor Winslet has published over 250 peer review articles, contributed multiple chapters to standard surgical textbook and has written and edited four surgical text books. He has lectured both nationally and internationally in the fields of upper GI and colorectal surgery.Professor Winslet has been co-editor of the Journal of Colorectal Disease for the past 14 years. His clinical interests include all aspects of oesophagogastric and colorectal surgery as well as surgical oncology.
