Having qualified from medical school, Mr Victor Tsang began his cardiothoracic surgical training at the Royal Brompton and London Chest Hospitals. For two years he was a Lecturer and Research Fellow at the National Heart and Lung Institute under Prof Magdi Yacoub, before continuing histraining with Dr Roger Mee at Melbourne Children's Hospital in Australia. His first consultancy post was at Southampton University Hospital (1994-1997).Mr Tsang has been working in the Cardiothoracic Unit at Great Ormond Street Hospital for 14 years. He is also a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon at the Heart Hospital in London, with specialist insterests in adult congenital heart surgery and neonatal cardiac surgery. Mr Tsang has undertaken operations in Scandinavia, Germany, and China / Hong Kong, and leads charity missions in the Caribbean. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and lectured widely, and is also one of the three editors of a world-renowned paediatric cardiac surgical textbook.
