Dr Martin Thomas is a Consultant Cardiologist at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London. Trained in all aspects of general cardiology, Dr Thomas has a specialist interest in heart failure management and device therapy, this includes pacemakers, cardiac resynchronisation and implantable defibrillator implantation. He is also an expert in aviation cardiology.

Dr Thomas qualified from the University of Southampton, School of Medicine in 1992, completing his postgraduate specialist training in cardiology at the Sussex Cardiac Centre, Brighton and St. George’s Hospital, London. He also undertook a one-year senior fellowship in the advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation service at the Royal Perth Hospital in Western Australia.

Dr Thomas was awarded an MD degree from Imperial College, London after completing his thesis on the clinical problem of heart failure with preserved systolic function. He has since published many papers in the field of heart failure.
