Dr Howard Stevens
Dr Howard Stevens studied medicine at Jesus College Oxford University and the Middlesex and University College London Medical School. He was trained as a dermatologist at the Royal Free Hospital and the Royal London Hospital. He obtained a PhD from Queen Mary's and Westfield College and Royal London Hospital where he undertook research into genetic skin disease and was involved in the identification of the first gene involved in the aetiology of genetic deafness.From 1998 to 2014, Dr Stevens was Consultant Dermatologist to the Barnet and Chase Farm NHS Trust and from 2014 joined the Royal Free Hospital. He is consultant Dermatologist with the Royal Free NHS Trust. He is a General Dermatologist seeing both adult and children with an interest in skin cancer Dr Stevens is a Dermatological and Mohs surgeon. He is the Skin Cancer Lead for Barnet Skin Cancer Multi-Disciplinary Team the largest in London. His skin cancer work includes diagnosis, management and treatment of patients with melanoma, basal and squamous cell carcinomas. He treats the full range of skin cancers surgically and works closely with both maxillofacial as well as plastic surgeons to optimize the care on complex cases. In 2010 he established Skin Care Network with other Dermatologists in the Barnet and Enfield area. His ethos is excellence in clinical care combined with a friendly and empathic patient approach.
