Ertan Saridogan is a Professor of Gynaecological Surgery at University College London and a Consultant Gynaecologist at University College London Hospital. His private practice is based in Central London. He specialises in minimally invasive surgery for the treatment of benign gynaecological conditions. His exceptional degree of training sets him apart in the field of gynaecology. He completed his initial specialist training in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department, Istanbul University in 1991. He then moved to London for further postgraduate training in reproductive medicine. He also completed a PhD in obstetrics and gynaecology at St Bartholomew's and The Royal London School of Medicine, University of London. In 1996, he was granted Associate Professorship by the Higher Education Council of Turkey.

Following this, Professor Saridogan embarked on training in Minimal Access Surgery and was appointed as a Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and Minimal Access Surgery at University College London Hospitals in 2000.

Professor Saridogan is currently the President-Elect of the European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE) and Editor of its official journal Facts, Views and Vision in Obgyn and newsletter ESGEVISION. He is a past president of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy and International Society of Reproductive Surgery. He is also a member of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) Guideline Development Group on Management of Endometriosis. He co-authored all three ESHRE Guidelines on endometriosis.

His clinical interests include key-hole surgery (laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery), particularly for patients with endometriosis and fibroids, as well as their medical treatment, congenital uterine anomalies, Asherman syndrome (intrauterine adhesions) and outpatient hysteroscopy. His research interests include healthy and diseased fallopian tube function, and diagnosis and management of endometriosis. He published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles, edited two books and contributed to more than 30 book chapters.
