Dr Punit Ramrakha was appointed as Consultant Cardiologist in 2002. He has worked in Buckinghamshire and Hammersmith Hospitals NHS trusts where he has pioneered daycase angioplasty and the ASD/PFO programme of Hammersmith. He treated Tony Blair's heart condition in 2004/5, and continues to write for the Oxford Handbook series.Dr Ramrakha's current research interests are in Biomarke's for cardiac disease, Ischaemic heart disease and diabetes.
