Ian is a Consultant in Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Medicine and a Sports Physician with extensive experience in elite sport. He was the Chief Medical Officer for Team GB at the last 3 Olympic Games (Beijing, Vancouver and London 2012) and has been a doctor with Team GB at 2 further Olympic Games (Sydney and Athens) and with Team England at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester and Melbourne. Ian was also CMO to the British Modern Pentathlon Association for 7 years, a member of the Chelsea FC medical team for 3 seasons and medical officer to the British Davis Cup tennis team. He is currently a member of the medical team for the Wimbledon Tennis Championships and ATP World Tour Finals and a sports physician to The Royal Ballet School in Covent Garden. Ian's clinical interests include the diagnosis and management of sport and exercise related injuries. His approach is based on the effective use of multi-disciplinary teams to deliver rehabilitation that ensures a safe and speedy return to function.As well as his clinic at the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health in Central London, Ian also works as a Consultant at the military rehabilitation centre, DMRC Headley Court and delivers specialist clinics on-site at Goldman Sachs in Fleet Street.
