Mr Alastair MacKenzie Ross studied medicine at Cambridge University. His initial medical and surgical training was in East Anglia, Swansea and London. There followed 2 years of full time fully funded research into aspects of senescence in melanocytes and melanoma for which he was conferred the Doctor of Medicine (Cantab) degree.Mr MacKenzie Ross's higher surgical training was based in the London Deanery. During this period he undertook fellowships in hand surgery in Singapore, cosmetic reconstructive surgery in London and was a Poche Fellow in Melanoma and Surgical Oncology at the Melanoma Institute Australia (formerly the Sydney Melanoma Unit).He was appointed a Consultant Plastic Surgeon with a special interest in skin oncology to Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals in 2013. He is a member of the skin cancer multi-disciplinary teams at Guy's and St Thomas', King's College and Queen Elizabeth (Woolwich) Hospitals and has published and presented internationally.
