Dr Athanasios Lambiris qualified with 'Ptychio Iatrikes' (MBBS equivalent) from the School of Medicine, University of Athens, Greece in March 1992. In March 1999, he obtained accreditation in dermatology/venereology with the Ministry of Health and Welfare in Athens, Greece. In June 2000, he obtained a Doctorate of Medicine from the School of Medicine Demokritio University of Thrace, Greece, his thesis being related to malignant melanoma, the most significant of skin cancers. Dr Lambiris trained in General Medicine and subsequently in Dermatology mainly in London between 1995 and 2000 in the most reputable academic dermatology departments. Specifically he commenced as a clinical research fellow at St Thomas' Hospital, London, then a registrar in Dermatology at King's College Hospital and later at St Mary's Hospital, London, and University College, London. Dr Lambiris has been a Consultant Dermatologist in the NHS initially as a Locum and later with a substantive Consultant post at North West London Hospitals NHS Trust since 2004. His special interests include skin cancer, moles, dermatologic surgery, acne, pigment disorders, cosmetic dermatology and is most interested in the newest methods and drugs for dermatological therapy. At present he holds practising privileges at Princess Grace Hospital, the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth, the Clementine Churchill Hospital and Spire Hospital Bushey, where he holds regular clinics.
