Dr Chelvi Kukendrarajah
Neurodisability, Paediatric Neurodisability
Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD and Developmental Coordination Disorder (otherwise known as Dyspraxia). Assessment for children with neurodevelopmental problems and behavioural problems, Cerebral Palsy, feeding & sleeping problems. Symptoms based approach.
After gaining my postgraduate qualification, I worked at the National Centre for Social Communication disorder, Harper House Children's Service in Radlett and various teaching hospitals (St Mary's Paddington and The Royal Free Hospital). During my Paediatric training I specialised in neurodisablity and have particular interest in social communication disorders and its co-morbidities (ADHD, DCD, Sleeping and Feeding problem). I am continually updating my knowledge and skills in this area. Within my NHS role, I have developed a service for the autism spectrum disorder and its co-morbidities. I also provide assessment for individuals with complex medical needs including epilepsy. Often these individuals require a comprehensive review of overall medical needs in order to optimise the management of epilepsy and other neurodevelopmental problems. These skills are being continuously monitored and updated in line with current evidence - based on findings and NICE/SIGN guidelines to achieve high quality services.
