Mr Andrew Chukwuemeka's practice encompasses the spectrum of heart and lung surgery and his specialist interests include surgery for ischaemic heart disease, aortic valve surgery (including TAVI), surgery of the thoracic aorta and surgery for lung cancer. He trained in London and undertook a Specialist Fellowship in aortic surgery in Toronto. He lectures regularly on coronary and valve surgery and is the course convenor for the Cardiothoracic Skills Course at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.Mr Chukwuemeka also performs video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) for lung and pleural disease as well as to treat hyperhydrosis. He is one of very few surgeons in the UK performing the 'cut and sew' MAZE operation to treat atrial fibrillation.
