Mr Conal Austin graduated from Belfast university 1986. He underwent Cardiothoracic training in Belfast from 1990 - 1995, at the Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne with Dr T Karl in 1996, and the Chef De Service Hopital Broussais Paris with Professor Carpentier in 1997, before being appointed Consultant at Guy's and St Thomas' in November 1997. Mr Austin performs a full complement of paediatric neonatal infant and adult congenital surgical cases and holds a special interest in Paediatric valvular conservative repairs, Minimal access paediatric cardiac repairs, Intra-operative 3D echocardiography, and Ross operations and Norwood procedures .
