Consultants practising at HCA hospitals are key to HCA’s success. In recognition of this, we aim to ensure that they are appropriately supported throughout their relationship with the company and the Consultant Credentialing Department is part of that support.
HCA is unique in having six hospitals spread across central London, with some consultants having Practising Privileges at more than one. Once Practising Privileges are approved at one hospital, it is simply a matter of contacting the Chief Executive Officers at other HCA hospitals of interest to initiate an application. The benefit of maintaining a central credentialing database is that upon request, the Consultant Credentialing Department will provide a copy of the credentials (please note there may still be a requirement for a reduced number of hospital-specific documents).
To apply for Practising Privileges, it is necessary to contact the hospital Chief Executive Officer in the first instance (contact details available under the relevant Hospital section of our website). If supported by the CEO, Medical Advisory Committees consider and approve applications for privileges.
Thereafter, our centralised Consultant Credentialing Department will assist in the maintenance of your credentials throughout your practice with HCA. If you are an existing HCA consultant and you need to update your credentials, please contact the Consultant Credentialing Department via email at Credentials@hcahealthcare.co.uk or by telephone, dialling +44 (0) 207 563 4282.
