HCA International Limited owns the capital's six leading private hospitals, all based in central London and each with an international reputation for the highest standards of acute and tertiary care.
They are: The Harley Street Clinic, The Lister Hospital, London Bridge Hospital, The Portland Hospital, The Princess Grace Hospital and The Wellington Hospital which is the UK's largest private hospital.
HCA also has six outpatient and diagnostic centres (including the UK's largest diagnostic and outpatient centre, the £33 million Platinum Medical Centre, part of the Wellington Hospital), a blood and bone cancer treatment joint venture with the NHS at University College Hospital together with a young person's cancer unit, The London Gamma Knife Centre, another joint venture with the NHS at St Bartholomew's Hospital and Harley Street at Queen's, a private patient cancer centre at the NHS Queen's Hospital in Romford. In addition, HCA is developing, with the internationally renowned Christie cancer hospital in Manchester, a new state-of-the-art private patient unit - called The Christie Clinic - for cancer patients from across the North of England.
The six HCA hospitals in London treat around 300,000 patients per year. They also specialise in the most complex medical procedures including cardiac care, liver transplantation, inter cranial surgery and complex cancer care. The HCA cancer network, for example, is the largest provider of cancer care in the UK outside the NHS. Uniquely, HCA has its own clinical trials unit based in Harley Street in central London.
Our policy is to invest in Centres of Excellence for acute areas of medicine such as cardiology, cancer and neurosciences. We invest in the latest proven diagnostic and treatment technology and we invest a great deal in continuous training and development programmes for our nursing and other specialist medical staff.
Because we have extensive research and clinical trials facilities in the US we can always bring the latest treatments to our UK facilities so that patients can benefit from new developments.
HCA is the largest provider of cancer care outside the NHS in the UK and we also have the largest number of enhanced and critical care beds in the private sector.
More than 3,000 leading physicians and consultants choose to run their private practice from an HCA hospital or specialist treatments centre.
We treat patients from London, the UK and all over the world and promise privacy, respect, comfort, cleanliness and top quality treatment. And we are recognised by all major medical insurance companies.
For independent practitioners we can provide bespoke administrative services, taking the burden of managing a practice away from busy consultants.
We run many seminars and master classes for health professionals. These have included live transmissions of laparoscopic surgery and tours of our state-of-the-art facilities.
