Cancer - RapidArc

RapidArc delivers radiotherapy faster and with a greater level of accuracy than previous linear accelerators. Linked to a unique tumour mapping system, the RapidArc travels around a patient targeting tumours from 360 degrees in just two minutes, rather than 20 minutes of exposure with older systems. It delivers radiation, following the contours of cancers, in one rotation giving better coverage of the tumour volume with far less damage to nearby healthy tissue.

Cancer – CyberKnife

The London CyberKnife Centre at The Harley Street Clinic is the first in the UK to offer this treatment. CyberKnife treatment requires no anaesthesia, there is no recovery time and patients can usually be treated and go home on the same day.

Acute Neuro

This video looks at the interdisciplinary neurological team at The Wellington Hospital and the planned care for each patient with the Neuro-rehabilitation Unit.

Cardiac Treatment in Children

The Harley Street Clinic specialises in cardiac treatment in children. Here you can meet the experts that work in the unit and hear more about their role.

Vasilli's Cardiac Surgery‏

Dr Duncan Dymond, discusses how an cardiac angiography is delivered at The Cardiac Unit at The Wellington Hospital and the patient benefits of this procedure.

Ava's Cochlear Implant

At five days old, Ava Pearson was diagnosed as profoundly deaf. Here Lauren and Chris, parents of two-year-old Ava, share their story of their daughter's successful treatment and recovery. Only two years later, with the support and guidance from The Portland Hospital and Auditory Verbal UK, Ava can now hear and speak.

Martin Kemp - Radiotherapy

Fourteen years ago Martin Kemp was in North America when he discovered a lump on the back of his head. He flew back home where doctors found he had two tumours, one of which was buried deep in his brain. The prognosis was not good. Surgeons removed the larger tumour and put a metal plate in his skull but the second was in a position where an operation was going to be highly dangerous, possibly causing irreparable damage to his brain.

Alice and Aaron‘s Fertility treatment

Alice and Aaron were told soon after they were married that they wouldn't be able to have children. But they'd heard about the Lister Fertility Clinic from friends and decided to try fertility treatment at the clinic. They were advised to try ICSI and IVF treatments, and after their very first attempt, they conceived. Maisie is now 2; Alice and Aaron say that the Lister Fertility Clinic "has helped us complete our family, and complete ourselves." www.ivf.org.uk/

Janet’s Lokomat Therapy

Janet had a bleed on her brain and needed treatment at The Wellington Hospital to help her walk again. The physiotherapists worked with Janet using a type of robot-assisted walking therapy called the Lokomat.

Vasilli's Cardiac Surgery‏

e-Qit

While the hospitals and other facilities owned by HCA International have had an enviable record for cleanliness in recent years, there is a constant desire to find new ways of preventing infection and ensuring standards of cleanliness are kept at a consistently high level. Our culture is that there is always room for improvement and everyone has a role and a responsibility for ensuring cleanliness. As part of this drive to raise standards even higher, HCA has partnered the development of a new tool called e-Qit which will dramatically change the way that cleanliness inspections and follow-up actions are carried out.

Self Pay

If you’re thinking about going private, don’t wait for your condition to get worse. You don’t need medical insurance to receive treatment at one of our hospitals and you won’t need to wait – we offer same day or next day appointments. It’s more affordable than you might think to receive treatment from a leading specialist using the very latest technologies, and our prices are very competitive..

Colon cancer is the third most common cancer in the UK. Professor Dorudi tells us the story of Donald Eade who was diagnosed with colon cancer after experiencing discomfort. Much of professor Dorudi's work at The Princess Grace focuses on colorectal cancer surgery for both open and keyhole laproscopic surgery.
